Applied Security Engineering Research Group (ASERG) with a focus on the applied side of Information Security is at the forefront of areas ranging from identity management, access control, and Security Information & Event Management systems (SIEM). The research group is carrying out cutting edge research with a vision to assist industry by working on their problems. Over the last couple of years ASERG has won several research grants that have resulted in the form of products, research publications and a patent.
ASERG is currently pursuing following projects
Cross Domain Access Control:
The project aims to provide a federated identity management and access control solution for enterprise systems. It will offer solution for organizations who need to give access of their resources to outside entities. The outcome will also be useful for organizations which have geographically dispersed locations and users have to access resources from distributed applications. Similarly, the project is well suited for collaborating organizations where employees have to physically move between offices and access resources. The project provides solution to such complex interactions while taking care of relevant privacy and security issues.
IT Infrastructure Security:
The project aims to protect the critical computational assets of an organization through development of a solution that helps in detecting intrusion, malware, suspicious activities etc. in real time. The project has several challenges that range from compute intensive operations, correlation, data storage and analysis.
